Oases are part of Morocco’s natural riches. With an area of 77,000 km2, the Tafilalet region, in the south of the country, is home to the largest oasis in the world. This set of oases, located in the lower valleys of the Ziz and Ghéris wadis, is spread over the towns of Erfoud and Rissani.
National road No. 13 also offers a great opportunity to discover the valley. Indeed, the road which connects Midelt to Erfoud runs along the Ziz River for more than 200km, thus offering landscapes as diverse as they are breathtaking: mountains, limestone cliffs, expanses of greenery, monuments, gorges, etc. only wonders each conveying a section of the history of the region.
This oasis lost in the desert is crossed by the Ziz wadi and spreads over twenty municipalities in the region spread over the towns of Rissani and Erfoud. We let you discover in a few images these green islets of Tafilalet covering, as far as the eye can see, the valleys of the Ghéris and Ziz wadis.
